Fig Tree Bay Cyprus
The Place to Be

Fig Tree Bay Cyprus can be found in the idyllic Protaras area of beautiful Cyprus. Protaras is located between Cape Greco and the village of Paralimni

One of the area's biggest drawcards, the Fig Tree Bay beach, stretches for miles and miles of amazing, crystal blue water and postcard-worthy sandy shores. Situated on the east side of the Island, the Protaras region (including Fig Tree Bay) covers about 5km of the picturesque Famagusta coastline. The area didn't start drawing large numbers of tourists until the 1980's when holiday-goers noticed the sophisticated charm of Protaras when compared to the more wild, party town of Ayia Napa (located just 9 miles away).

The Fig Tree Bay beach is visited by thousands of tourists every year because of its intense beauty and relaxing feeling. The deep blue sea and golden sand paired with the tropical greenery of the island's flora and fauna make for an amazing backdrop to a beachside holiday.

If you're big on cuisine then you won't be disappointed at Fig Tree Bay Cyprus as you'll have access to a huge range of restaurants and cafes - each with their own Cypriot flair of course! You can enjoy a range of different types of food in the Protaras area including Thai, Italian and Indian (among others). One of the specialties of the Protaras area is freshly grilled fish which can be enjoyed in a range of open-air seafood restaurants, sounds like bliss!

Shopping is another fun way to while away your time when staying in and around Fig Tree Bay Cyprus. There are a great range of chain and boutique shops where you can pick up anything from a thrifty bargain to a real wallet burner! Don't forget the odd shopping hours you'll often find in European countries. Shops are open from 8am till around 1pm and then they will open again in the afternoon (around 4pm) and remain open until 6 or 7 at night.

Cavo Greco, a spectacular National Forest park, is another sight to see when visiting the Protaras area. There are 9 different trails within the park and its home to as many as 300 different plant species. If plant life isn't really your thing don't worry, there are also a huge range of activities to enjoy at Cavo Greco including climbing, hiking, cycling and a number of different air sports.

The sea caves that dot the shores of the Protaras area are a great adventure for those who love putting on their explorer cap when on holiday. The unique formations vary from small "crevices" to massive caves you can explore and even hide away from the often busy beaches. Take your camera and some appropriate footwear and then let the adventurer in you run wild!

One of the most difficult choices you'll have to make when staying Fig Tree Bay is whether to eat, drink, sunbathe, swim or shop! This sunny paradise is a fabulous holiday destination for people young and old, couples or families; you won't be disappointed if you visit Fig Tree Bay Cyprus.
